The Dune Shire Cobbit from Missouri Meerschaum is one of two mid-sized pipes in the Cobbit Collection.
It has an acorn-shaped bowl that’s not only pleasing to behold, but pleasing when held in the palm of your hand. Like all pipes in the Cobbit Collection, the bowl has a dark stain added to the coating, a genuine, hardwood insert in the bottom, a wide nickel band on the shank and a Dune Italian Acrylic bit.

Note: Due to the unique nature of a corncob and Italian Acrylic stems there will be variations between the pipe received compared to the one photographed. Bit color variation examples shown to the left. One bit comes with each pipe purchased.
You may notice some chipping on the top edge of your pipe. This is perfectly normal and won’t in any way affect the way your pipe smokes. The chips only add to the charm and character of your corn cob pipe. Enjoy!

Don’t get me wrong, The 155th anniversary is a beautiful golden color, the “Let Freedom Ring” is a ln excellent walking around pipe with a strong resistance to heat once you get your carbon on it, but the Dune shire Cobbit is the best one yet.
Easiest to modify if you wanted to, The most beautiful acrylic stem, and the perfect sized Cob for long smoking sessions. The Dune Shire Cobbit brings a unique shape and style that reminds you of the Tolkien idealism of his Hobbit legacy.
The look is sharp, the feel is smooth and the shank in my pipe was cut short inside the bowl for anyone to add pipe mud build or just as easily place a brass screen.
A must buy and a firm reminder of why Missouri Meerschaum has been in business for 155 years and counting.
Even if you don’t smoke, it’s a solid piece to just have as a collector. Highly recommend either the left or the shire.

Outstanding! Received my Cobbit Shire today and enjoyed my first smoke! The pipe itself is very nice and smokes very smoothly and cool! I’m a novice and Marilyn was incredibly kind & patient with my grilling her as to tobacco suggestions and updating my order when I’d forgotten an item! She even added a note to my order requesting a bit with minimal white in the pattern! The pipe I received is beautiful and I’m very proud of it! The Great Dane tobacco she suggested too smokes nicely and is not overly aromatic, nice complex flavor. If you’ve been on the fence about a nice cob I encourage you to get one from the cobbit collection and treat yourself to a very nicely made American classic from a company with unparalleled customer service!
