Moreover, they pay homage to C&D's Carolinian roots, with this Charles Towne Landing piece offering a unique version of the Charles Towne Cobbler shape of years past. Located in Charleston, Charles Towne Landing is the birthplace of South Carolina, an historic site where English settlers first made ground in 1620. As a corn cob pipe, the Charles Towne Landing shares the shame bowl and overall design as the Charles Towne Cobbler, but with a darkened hardwood shank that evokes the aesthetic of bamboo in line with Missouri Meerschaum and Cornell & Diehl's Southport Ferryman and Salem Woodsman pipes. It features the same Calabash-like bowl as Missouri Meerschaum's popular Patriot shape, but the Morganton Caroler 2023 is elevated by a bold fumed rim, an elegant brass band, and an elongated stem of swirling yellow and white hues.
