Nathan Davis
Nathan Davis is an American pipe maker and enthusiast, widely known for his Greywoodie line of pipes and, more recently, for his ownership of the historic Kaywoodie brand. He hails from the quiet town of Cobleskill, New York, Nathan was raised with an appreciation for craftsmanship, influenced by his father’s and grandfather’s woodworking. Initially he pursued a degree in Chemistry and Philosophy at Union College, but Nathan’s path shifted after discovering pipe smoking and tobacco blending. This newfound passion led him to transition from his career as a patent agent in nanotech to full-time pipe making.
Nathan’s journey into the world of pipes began with a deep connection to the vintage Kaywoodie brand, which he began collecting and restoring in his spare time. Over the years, his craftsmanship grew, and he launched Greywoodie, a brand that drew inspiration from the timeless designs of Kaywoodie pipes. His love for the Kaywoodie brand culminated in the purchase of the company in April 2024, where he continues to create pipes that honor its legacy while infusing modern techniques and artistry. Nathan focuses on creating pipes that reflect both his personal philosophy and the deep respect he holds for the history of pipe making.
As a co-host of The Greywoodie Show and an organizer of the Capitaland Pipe Show with Eugene Falco, Nathan is deeply embedded in the pipe community, fostering connections and further contributing to the world of pipes and tobacco.
